FORT LEE — Governor Christie and several educational leaders are scheduled to appear Friday on the MSNBC shows "Way Too Early" and "Morning Joe," which will broadcast live from Fort Lee High, the school district’s superintendent confirmed Thursday.
Christie, along with Gov. Jack Markell, D-Del., Gov. Dannel Malloy, D-Conn., and StudentsFirst founder Michelle Rhee will discuss policies, reforms and bullying in schools, according to Morning Joe’s blog on MSNBC’s website.
The show will also highlight student improvement and the use of technology in Fort Lee schools, the blog stated.
"Way Too Early" will air at 5:30 a.m., followed by "Morning Joe" from 6 to 9 a.m.
Fort Lee’s interim superintendent, Steven Engravalle, said Christie’s office contacted him about two weeks ago to invite him to join the discussion, and he suggested they film at the high school.
“We’re honored to be part of it,” Engravalle said. “It’s an amazing thing for our school.”
The lineup may be subject to change, but Engravalle said he is scheduled to appear in a segment alongside Christie and Newark schools Superintendent Cami Anderson.
