The Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival, which highlights the beauty and fun of the winter backcountry experience, will premiere in Bend at McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School, 700 N.W. Bond St., at 9 p.m. on Friday. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and will be available at the door. The event, for those 21 and older, includes a raffle, beer and an array of films meant to inspire and excite winter recreation enthusiasts. The films are juried by a panel of judges and the top films are assembled into a 90-minute program.

Proceeds from the event will go to Bend Backcountry Alliance, a local group that “supports quiet, human-powered winter recreation in the backcountry” around Bend. Information: www.bend bc.com.
