JAKARTA, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- An Indonesian film production company has expressed interest in offering Malaysian diva Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin to appear in a film titled "Kekuatan Cinta" (The Strength of Love).
The company, PT Kentfilms Production, wanted Siti Nurhaliza to act together with Indonesian top actor, Nicholas Saputra in a film planned to start shooting soon and scheduled for release in Indonesian cinemas this year.
Several stars from Malaysia such as Fasha Sandha, Melissa Saila and Raja Ema will also be invited to act in the film which also lists the Indonesian stars, Christine Hakim and Dian Sastrowardoyo.
Iwan Sardi, who will direct the film, hoped that Siti Nurhaliza who will appear as a guest star, will accept the offer as she was still popular in Indonesia.
Iwan said the film is an adaptation of a popular novel written by Sastri Y Bakri, about the loyalty of a wife to her husband who suffered illness which finally caused his death.
The uniqueness of the film is the potrayal of love scenes between an Indonesian man and a Malaysian woman, which will be filmed in several scenic locations in Malaysia, he said here on Monday.
Earlier, Iwan and PT Kentfilms Production's main director, Edy As had a meeting with Malaysian Ambassador in Indonesia Datuk Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin Syed Hassan at his office, here to ask for his views on the possibility of working together in the film production.
